Frequently Asked Questions: FAQ

What are your health and safety policies?

Kids Connect Daycare maintains health and safety protocols in accordance with Ministry of Education and local Toronto Public Health guidelines. We follow COVID-19 guidelines as outlined by Toronto Public Health. For further information regarding our health and safety protocols, please refer to our Parent Handbook.

Have you opted into the Canada-Wide Early Learning & Child Care (CWELCC) System?

We are please to announce that Kids Connect has opted into and has been approved for the CWELCC program, which provides a 25% reduction in fees for families retroactive to April 1, 2022 and a 52.75% reduction on fees effective December 31, 2022. Fees on our website represent our fees PRIOR to these reductions.

What is your waitlist policy?

To place your child on our wait list, please fill out the information on our Contact Us page, including your child's name, date of birth and requested start date. Children are placed on our waitlist in chronological order, based on age and the date and time the request was received.

When space becomes available in a program, priority will be given to children who are currently enrolled and need to move to the next age grouping, siblings of children currently enrolled and children of staff. Once these children have been placed, other children on the waiting list will be prioritized based on program room availability and the chronology in which the child was placed on the waiting list.

If it is past your requested start date and Kids Connect Daycare has not contacted you to offer a spot, please reach out to us by email at info@kidsconnectdaycare.com to let us know they would like to remain on the waiting list for a spot at a future date, otherwise your child will be removed from the waiting list.

How will I stay updated on my child's care?

Caregivers will receive timely updates of how their child's day is progressing through daily digital reports easily accessed through the HiMama mobile app/email, including what they ate, how they slept and pictures of them learning and exploring in our safe and nurturing environment. Daily reports also includes anecdotes about what activities and programming your child is mastering and engaging in alongside their fellow classmates.

Can you tell us more about your educational programming?

Kids Connect Daycare is committed to providing a positive, diverse and nurturing educational environment for children and their families. We follow the How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years (2014) framework to ensure our programming and pedagogy meet the individual developmental needs of the whole child. We view children as being competent, capable, curious and rich in potential. Each child is seen as their own unique self with their own views, interests and abilities and have the right to an environment that promotes support, inclusivity, and respect.

Kids Connect Daycare believes that one of the key components to a successful partnership in the childcare world is ensuring families are included in all important matters. We support positive and responsive interactions among the children, families, childcare providers and staff. We welcome all families with diverse backgrounds and opinions to share their knowledge and integrate into our programming and environment. We will also reach out into our own community to find resources to include in our programming to foster further engagement with our families and children.

We understand that children have different ways of learning and understanding so one of our main goals is to help foster children’s exploration, play and inquiries through our child-led, play based approach to learning. We use emergent curriculum to create an environment that promotes child-initiated and adult-supported experiences with the proper materials and resources in each classroom setting.  The educators will plan and create positive learning environments and experiences in which each child’s learning and development will be supported, and which is inclusive of all children, including children with individualized plans.
