Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach out if you have any further questions

What are your health and safety policies?

Kids Connect Daycare maintains health and safety protocols in accordance with Ministry of Education and local Toronto Public Health guidelines. For further information regarding our health and safety protocols, please refer to our Family Handbook.

What is your waitlist policy?

To place your child on our wait list, please fill out the information on our Contact Us page, including your child's name, date of birth and requested start date. Children are placed on our waitlist in chronological order, based on age and the date and time the request was received. Our waitlist has reopened for new applicants as of June 2, 2025. If you're interested in joining the waitlist, please fill in the form in on our Contact Us page. Please note that the majority of program transitions and new enrolments take place in September, which means space availability throughout the remainder of the year is very limited.

When space becomes available in a program, priority will be given to children who are currently enrolled and need to move to the next age grouping and siblings of children currently enrolled. Once these children have been placed, other children on the waiting list will be prioritized based on program room availability and the chronology in which the child was placed on the waiting list.

How will I stay updated on my child's care?

Caregivers will receive timely updates of how their child's day is progressing through daily digital reports easily accessed through the Lillio (formerly HiMama) mobile app/email, including what they ate, how they slept and pictures of them learning and exploring in our safe and nurturing environment. Daily reports also includes anecdotes about what activities and programming your child is mastering and engaging in alongside their fellow classmates.

Can you tell us more about your educational programming?

Kid Connect Daycare is dedicated to providing a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment for children and their families. Guided by How Does Learning Happen? (2014), we view all children as capable, curious, and full of potential, each with their own unique strengths, interests, and perspectives. Our goal is to offer a space that reflects and respects these qualities.

Our program is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, which sees children as active participants in their learning. We carefully design our classrooms to act as a “third teacher,” encouraging exploration, creativity, and meaningful interactions. Educators use emergent curriculum to observe and respond to children’s interests, creating engaging, inclusive experiences that support each child’s development.

We believe strong partnerships with families are essential. We welcome the diverse experiences and knowledge families bring and actively invite their input into our learning community. We also connect with local organizations to enrich our programming and foster a greater sense of belonging.

Through a play-based, child-led approach, we support children’s exploration and inquiry in thoughtfully planned environments. Our educators design learning experiences that reflect children’s interests and meet individual developmental needs, including those with individualized plans. Please refer to our Family Handbook for more information.
